Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has said the news of the release of 21 Chibok girls abducted by the Boko Haram insurgents is just a diversionary tactic by the government. Fayose said that “it has become the practice of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led federal government to divert the attention of Nigerians each time it goofs.” He noted that the report could be a way to shift attention from the last week assault on our judges and the Judiciary by federal government , which has been widely condemned. President Buhari told the United Nations Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon that Nigeria would welcome intermediaries from the global body as a show of commitment to swap the abducted schoolgirls from Chibok with Boko Haram fighters in custody. Speaking during a bilateral meeting with the UN Secretary General at the sidelines of the 71st UN General Assembly in New York, President Buhari said the Nigerian government was willing to enter into negotiations to get the Chibok girls released from captivity. Starnley Nwanosike, NAN: The Nigerian Army killed 23 militants in the “Operation Crocodile Smile”, staged to flush out criminals in oil-producing Niger Delta. The soldiers also recovered 55 assorted weapons from suspected criminals in the region, the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 82 Division, Enugu, Maj.-Gen. Ibrahim Attahitu, said on Saturday. He told newsmen in Enugu that the recoveries were made during a military exercise and that many of the criminal fled with various degrees of injury.
