‘Where Were You When We Were Suffering In Brazil’ – Siasia Slams Nigerian Billionaires

Former coach of Nigeria’s Under-23 team,
Samson Siasia, has hit out at Nigerian
billionaires for abandoning the team during its
difficult times before and during the just
concluded Rio Olympics in Brazil.
Siasia said this while also thanking Japanese
surgeon, Dr. Katsuya Takasu, who gave the team
a gift of $390,000 to help them settle their bills
in Brazil.
Siasia told the BBC, “This man came to our aid
when we were in trouble. I must thank him. He
is a wonderful human being.

“Where were our billionaires, when they must
have heard that the team were in trouble?”
He added that the report credited to the
Nigerian Football Federation’s Integrity Officer,
Dr Christian Emeruwa on Dr Takasu, suggesting
that he (Takasu) could be associated with match-
fixing, is nonsense.
Siasia added, “He should have done a better job
of checking him out.”
